A Night with CC Lockwood

December 2, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Nature Conservancy of Louisiana partners with Rainforest Art Foundation, The Community Foundation of North Louisiana, and The Alta and John Franks Foundation for “Louisiana Wild: A Special Evening with C.C.Lockwood” Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Marlene Yu Museum located at 710 Travis St., Shreveport, LA 71101.

This event is free and open to the public. Louisiana photographer C.C. Lockwood will present images from the book, accompanied by music and stories in a multi-media slide show. Books will be available for purchase and signing following the presentation. Louisiana Wild: The Protected and Restored Lands of The Nature Conservancy, published by Louisiana State University Press in September, showcases 220 color images from the more than sixty properties managed by The Nature Conservancy across Louisiana’s diverse and productive ecosystem.

Lockwood presents a vivid photo narrative that journeys from the little-known Copenhagen Hills, a prairie habitat with the largest variety of woody plants in Louisiana; to the swampland lake of Cypress Island, with its massive rookery of roseate spoonbills and great egrets; to over a dozen other sites that showcase Louisiana’s distinct environs. Many of the preserves are near Shreveport.
