Lecture:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 October 30, \u00a02019\u2026.In the pre field trip lecture, we will discuss digital shooting techniques as they apply to wetland and swamp photography from boats. We will concentrate on composition and lighting; the most important aspects to great photography. We will also work on tips and techniques to photographing sunsets, wildlife, and close-ups. Photo editing with Adobe Lightroom will also be covered.\u00a0 Finally we will discuss equipment and the logistics of the field trip. Lecture location will\u00a0 be off Highland Road in Baton Rouge. Lunch will be provided. \u00a0Lunch and lecture 12 noon to 2:00 PM<\/p>\n

Field Trip:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 After lunch and the instruction session, we\u00a0take off to one of the great sites on the east side of Atchafalaya Basin. Drive time approximately 1 and 1\/2 hour. Exact location depends on water level in the basin and will be decided closer to the launch date.<\/p>\n

We will concentrate on landscapes of bald cypress trees, bayous, and a fall swamp sunset. There is also a good chance of getting some wetland wildlife.<\/p>\n

Equipment:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 You will need your camera, lens, extra chips, extra batteries, and some kind of protective case for your gear. Bring your tripod if you have one. Lens: A good wide angle is best for most landscapes, a macro lens for close-ups, and a telephoto of 200mm up to 600mm is good for wildlife. Remember though, \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0you\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>that gets the good picture, not the equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other Gear:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 drink\/water, small towel, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, mosquito repellent, notebook, pen and clothes for the current weather.<\/p>\n

Critique Session:<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 CC\u2019s will critique your best 5 photographs by email.\u00a0 He will post his 5 best on his web page and all of the students who wish to be posted.<\/p>\n
